Overview
Marqeta is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Corporate to join our team. As a senior member of the Corporate Legal team, you will be responsible for owning core SEC reporting workstreams, driving corporate governance, and supporting the Board and its committees.
Responsibilities
- Own core SEC reporting workstreams, including drafting and reviewing filings
- Drive corporate governance, including supporting the Board and its committees
- Serve as the primary drafter of the company’s proxy statement and related disclosure materials
- Provide practical, actionable guidance to a fast-moving executive team on complex legal obligations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with securities laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors and regulators
Requirements
- Meaningful experience in public company securities and governance work
- Strong instincts about what boards and investors care about
- Ability to translate complex legal obligations into practical, actionable guidance
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
