General Summary:
This role involves testing and modifying systems-level software and hardware, as well as specialized utilities. You’ll interpret wireless specifications, design test plans and procedures, and document system-level bugs using a tracking system. Additionally, you’ll troubleshoot issues with program functionality, output, or content, and develop testing programs to assess the effectiveness of new or modified systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Understand basic system features and functionality.
- Collect logs and basic data to identify errors during systems testing.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects.
- Perform log analysis to locate issues and gather information for troubleshooting.
- Verify that proposed solutions resolve the identified issues.
- Detect and resolve bugs using basic debugging techniques.
- Adapt to minor changes and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with supervision.
- Provide feedback about feature issues to software and systems teams.
- Communicate regularly with peers and managers about testing progress.
- Conduct basic field or lab tests as directed by technical leads.
- Make decisions on basic feature issues and seek clarity when requirements are ambiguous.
- Write functional tests to verify the performance of features.
Level of Responsibility:
- Work under close supervision.
- Make decisions that have limited impact, with any errors typically affecting timelines.
- Use basic communication skills to share information with team members.
- Complete tasks with multiple steps, requiring some planning and prioritization.
- Exercise creativity when troubleshooting technical problems.
- Use deductive reasoning to solve moderately complex issues.
This Role Does Not Involve:
- Financial accountability or budgeting responsibilities.
- Influence over key organizational decisions.
- Participation in strategic planning.
