Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable, robust, and accessible frontend components and user interfaces for eBay’s core platforms using modern web technologies.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to define, design, and ship new features and improvements that enhance the user experience.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and performance across various devices and browsers.
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to best practices in software development, including code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Actively participate in architectural discussions, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to complex technical challenges, while mentoring junior engineers.
- Identify and address UI/UX problems and performance bottlenecks, continuously striving for excellence in frontend engineering and user satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in frontend software development, with a strong portfolio showcasing significant contributions to large-scale web applications.
- Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.js (preferred), Angular, or Vue.js.
- Proficient understanding of web performance optimization techniques, accessibility standards (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Demonstrable experience with build tools like Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn, and version control systems (Git), along with a solid grasp of RESTful APIs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of working effectively in an agile, collaborative team environment.
