Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team at Cognizant in Bengaluru. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the operational support, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support enterprise SQL Server and MongoDB environments across distributed infrastructure
- Perform day-to-day operational support including monitoring, patching, performance tuning, and capacity management
- Actively participate in incident, problem, and change management processes
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative solutions
- Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (AGs, clustering, replica sets, sharding)
- Execute and validate backup and recovery processes for both platforms
Requirements
- Experience in managing and maintaining large-scale SQL Server and MongoDB databases
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Experience with MongoDB Ops Manager for monitoring, patching, automation, and backup
- Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
