Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our team at Cognizant in Chennai. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing secure backend services using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and relational databases within a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Deep proficiency in PL/SQL with proven experience in database stored procedures, query optimization, and data management within large-scale relational database environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway is essential with demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and maintain scalable solutions.
- Design, develop, and optimize resilient APIs and data integrations to enhance application performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that support key business capabilities and improve customer experiences.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall quality of the codebase.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and collaborate with other teams to resolve complex problems.
Requirements
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Multithreading, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data normalization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.
