Overview
Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games.
We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join as a founding member of the new Advertising Solutions (Quests) business line to help build out the Tech verticals. This is a strategic, senior-level individual contributor position, ideal for someone passionate about gaming and excited to establish Discord as a premier marketing tool for gaming-aligned brands.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and expand existing relationships with key gaming and tech clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision makers at top gaming and tech companies
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and pitch customized advertising solutions
- Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new products and features
- Provide market feedback and insights to internal stakeholders to inform product development and marketing strategies
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets, and contribute to the development of the sales strategy and forecasting
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in the gaming or tech industry
- Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and expanding existing relationships with key clients
- Strong understanding of the gaming and tech industries, including trends, players, and emerging technologies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior-level decision makers
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute strategic account plans
