Role Overview:
As an Associate Software Engineer in Data Engineering, you will play a critical role in supporting Business Intelligence (BI) development for Victoria’s Secret & Co. This role involves creating innovative data architecture designs and developing data services solutions for complex business requirements. You will work closely with a talented and dynamic BI team, as well as cross-functional teams (including POS, finance, manufacturing, HRMS, and supply chain), to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data flows, data models, and data warehouses to support business intelligence solutions.
- Collaborate with report developers to source relevant data for dashboard and report creation.
- Provide user support for incident management, data issues, and maintain daily/weekly data refresh schedules.
- Manage on-call responsibilities to ensure business SLAs are met.
- Create and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams and data flow designs.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Required Skills:
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining software for medium to large-scale data warehouses.
- At least 1 year of experience with end-to-end Snowflake cloud data warehouse implementations.
- Proficient in SnowSQL/SQL with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.
- Expertise in optimizing queries for performance improvement.
- Experience with Snowflake features such as Time Travel, Data Sharing, Snowpipe, Streams, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend, DataStage) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX shell scripting.
- Familiarity with best practices in SQL tuning and ETL development.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing phases (unit, integration).
- Proficiency in SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Iterative Development).
- Experience with Kafka, Python, or Java is an added advantage.
- Snow-Pro certification is a plus.
