Role Overview:
As an Associate Information Systems Engineer (DevOps Engineer), you will assist with developing, testing, and implementing business process automation, platform engineering, and integrations. You’ll also play a vital role in maintaining DevOps practices and enhancing employee desktop experiences through system configuration and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate processes, build system integrations, and manage the DevOps toolchain using scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, JavaScript), REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and no-code technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support resilient application deployments.
- Engage in strategy and technical discussions to identify opportunities for automation and platform enhancements.
- Provide technical support for automation technologies and endpoint management platforms.
- Execute QA tests by scripting automated functionality tests across various systems.
- Assist in defining DevOps best practices with a focus on security and compliance.
- Gather and analyze stakeholder requirements to create effective automation solutions.
- Manage corporate laptop, desktop, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) endpoints by ensuring encryption, security patches, and system updates.
- Support device management systems such as Intune, Jamf Pro, Horizon (VDI), Tanium, and cloud infrastructures like Azure and Google Cloud.
- Develop scripts to streamline processes in device management, packaging, and deployments.
- Monitor production issues via incident management systems and document all relevant information.
- Maintain inventory data for system compliance and reporting purposes.
- Assist with vendor management and software license coordination for managed systems.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across teams and departments.
- Create technical documentation for a diverse audience.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience supporting technology stacks (cloud and on-premises).
- Familiarity with Endpoint Management solutions such as Intune, Jamf Pro, Horizon (VDI), Tanium, and cloud infrastructures (Azure, Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, Selenium, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Azure DevOps, and Terraform.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, shell scripting, and Powershell.
- Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON).
- Experience with cloud computing services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and adaptability to change.
- Determined problem-solver, eager to see tasks through to completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of security best practices for cloud computing and access management.
- Experience with enterprise production environments.
- Ability to understand system functionality at both a technical and business level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in related disciplines (preferred).
