Job Description:
Responsibilities:
● Architect, build, iterate, and manage our server codebase.
● Partner closely with our design, product, and engineering teams to produce an application that flows seamlessly
and works intuitively.
● Write high quality, maintainable, and unit-testable code for quality assurance, robustness, usability, and reliability.
● Own important pieces of the product that have high visibility both internally and externally.
● Envision new products and features that are inspired, considered, and magical.
● Find simple, elegant solutions to hard problems.
6-Month Accomplishments:
● Integrate into Team Posh — You will focus on building out your working network and get connected with your
immediate group, the wider engineering team and the cross-functional teams including Test, Product Management,
DevOps etc.
● Learn some amazing technical skills – get familiar with various parts of Poshmark’s Cloud Platform code base and
infrastructure.
● Create user-facing impact — Enhance existing features and build new features within your assigned area of focus
on the Cloud Platform team.
12+ Month Accomplishments:
● Provide ideas/changes to improve server code base.
● Contribute to core infrastructure pieces which can help drive the features to be developed at a faster rate and ease the boiler plate code.
Requirements:
● BE or ME in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent). Solid foundation in computer science
with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design
● Experience with any or all of: Ruby, JRuby, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Linux
● Experience with Amazon AWS or other Cloud Computing platforms is preferred
● User-oriented focus and obsession with quality
