Meet the Team
The Foundational Commons platform team at PayPal is responsible for building and scaling essential services like the Document Management System, Notifications, Dropzone, and Crawler—critical for powering PayPal’s global payments operations. This role requires collaboration with senior leadership across functions to design and architect solutions that align with the One PayPal platform vision.
What You Need to Know About the Role
We are looking for an innovative, creative, and passionate Full Stack Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll design, enhance, and build solutions that leverage core functions of the Document Management System. The role offers a great agile environment to enhance your problem-solving and software development skills, including design, development, and testing.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test new features/enhancements.
- Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code with proper documentation.
- Collaborate with other engineers, architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor alerts, engage stakeholders for critical issues, and look for performance improvements.
- Mentor junior team members and help them grow.
- Participate in scrum meetings and cross-functional collaborations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of application-oriented software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Node.js, React.js, and Spring Framework.
- Experience with web services, REST, and JSON.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and Agile development.
- Ability to write effective unit and functional test cases.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with messaging frameworks.
- Exposure to designing multi-tier software applications.
- Ability to work independently and with other engineers in a collaborative environment.
