Your Role at NTT DATA: Software Applications Development Engineer
As a seasoned expert, you will design, develop, and enhance applications to meet the needs of both internal teams and external clients, driving impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop applications that align with client objectives and user needs.
- Design, write, and maintain application code and databases.
- Analyze and enhance existing software to improve functionality and compatibility with new hardware.
- Optimize performance by remodeling and adapting applications as needed.
- Identify client requirements and preferences during the design phase.
- Test applications extensively to ensure quality and reliability.
- Install applications and serve as a technical advisor.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address project requirements and limitations.
- Create software documentation in line with company standards.
- Participate in software reviews and team meetings.
- Perform related tasks as required.
Skills & Attributes
- Deep understanding of computer science, programming, and user-focused design.
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on integrity.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Java and other programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, C++).
- Extensive experience with software development processes, Agile methodologies, and integrated development environments.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing complex systems.
- Effective project management and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle client concerns with professionalism and tact.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++) are a plus.
- Scrum or Project Management certification preferred.
Experience Required
- Extensive experience in software applications engineering or software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, and C++.
- Experience working with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
- Expertise in SQL and Agile project management.
