Overview
We are seeking an experienced Linux System Engineer II to join our team at NCR Voyix in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing Linux systems, ensuring security and compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Linux-based systems, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance
- Ensure the security and integrity of Linux systems, including patch management, vulnerability assessment, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve technical issues, and provide technical guidance and support
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate system administration tasks, using languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems, and respond to system alerts and notifications
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Linux system administration, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our systems and processes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and collaboration
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Ubuntu
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions
