    Position Details

    Position Type: Full-Time
    Type of Hire: Experienced (Combination of relevant work experience and education)
    Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze, design, program, debug, and enhance software products used in local, networked, or Internet-based applications. (Code will be incorporated into core versions of applications sold commercially.)
    • Collaborate with product managers and users to define system requirements and necessary modifications.
    • Participate in software design meetings to assess user needs and define technical requirements.
    • Develop technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business needs.
    • Write, program, test, and debug applications using modern programming languages and technologies.
    • Prepare documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
    • Provide training and communicate with internal teams such as Client Training, Client Relationship, and Sales regarding systems applications.
    • Develop and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules while documenting processes and results.
    • Deliver presentations to technical and business groups, both internally and externally.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Familiarity with FIS products and services, with in-depth knowledge of specific business lines.
    • Understanding of the financial services industry, banking practices, regulations, and operations.
    • Proficiency in various software development life cycles (e.g., waterfall, iterative, modern approaches).
    • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, CMM, and Six Sigma.
    • Expertise in design patterns and their practical applications.
    • Ability to create and interpret sequence diagrams, class models, and other design artifacts.
    • Skills in conceptual solution modeling, business process modeling, and use cases.
    • Exceptional communication skills to address technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels.
    • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management abilities.
    • Capacity to estimate project workloads and ensure successful completion.
    • A positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsiveness to client needs.
    • Willingness and ability to mentor, teach, and coach team members.

    Optional Advanced Knowledge:

    • Networking, computing platforms, databases, security, middleware, and infrastructure technologies.

    Job Level Description

    This is a developing professional role requiring proficiency in at least one higher-level programming language and familiarity with at least one system development life cycle model. Responsibilities include:

    • Developing and preparing less complex computer programs.
    • Assisting in designing logic flowcharts and preparing test data.
    • Testing, debugging, and documenting procedures.
    • Working independently on some tasks while seeking guidance on others.
    • Typically requires up to three years of software engineering experience.
