Overview
NextGen is seeking an experienced Director of Software Development to lead a portfolio of healthcare interoperability products and advance our shared services capabilities. This role will oversee the full software development lifecycle for a large API solution and multiple interoperability products and platforms across various technology stacks and deployment models.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering strategy and operational performance for a large API solution and multiple interoperability products and platforms
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment
- Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and engineering practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and solutions
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans
- Build and maintain a high-performing team of software engineers and technical leaders
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical expertise in software engineering, with experience in multiple technology stacks and deployment models
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality products and solutions on time and on budget
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
