Overview
We’re seeking a highly skilled Counsel, Product & Regulatory – Payments & AML to join our team at Mercury. As a Counsel, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of banking and financial infrastructure, ensuring that our products and services are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on product development, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and compliance, to develop and implement new products and features
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry standards, providing timely and effective guidance to the business
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry partners, and external counsel
- Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to payments and AML
- Provide training and guidance to employees on regulatory requirements and industry standards
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent degree from a top-tier law school
- 5+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in payments, AML, or financial services
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to payments and AML
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
