Overview
Mercury is seeking an experienced Counsel, Product & Regulatory to join our team in San Francisco, New York, Portland, or remotely in Canada or the United States. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in guiding our payment systems and AML compliance, ensuring we build systems that allow innovation, growth, and customer value.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regulatory compliance frameworks for payment systems and AML
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product development meets regulatory requirements
- Provide counsel on product and regulatory matters, including payment systems, banking products, and compliance obligations
- Stay up-to-date on changing regulatory landscapes and advise on potential risks and opportunities
- Draft and review policies, procedures, and contracts related to payment systems and AML compliance
- Partner with external counsel and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and resolve any issues
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent law degree
- 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in payment systems or AML
- Strong knowledge of payment systems, banking products, and compliance obligations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
