Overview
Marqeta is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Corporate to join its team. As a senior member of the Corporate Legal team, you will be responsible for owning core SEC reporting workstreams, driving corporate governance, supporting the Board and its committees, and serving as the primary drafter of the company’s proxy statement and related disclosure materials.
Responsibilities
- Own core SEC reporting workstreams, including drafting and reviewing periodic reports and registration statements
- Drive corporate governance, including supporting the Board and its committees
- Serve as the primary drafter of the company’s proxy statement and related disclosure materials
- Provide practical, actionable guidance to a fast-moving executive team on complex legal obligations
- Support the Deputy General Counsel on all things corporate and securities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Requirements
- Significant experience in public company securities and governance work
- Strong instincts about what boards and investors care about
- Ability to translate complex legal obligations into practical, actionable guidance
- Experience drafting and reviewing periodic reports and registration statements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
