Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust machine learning models, with a primary focus on sophisticated recommendation systems, aiming to solve complex business problems and significantly improve user engagement and satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain scalable MLOps pipelines and infrastructure to ensure seamless model training, efficient deployment, continuous monitoring, and effective retraining strategies in high-traffic production environments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and fellow software engineers, to thoroughly understand business requirements, define problem statements, and translate them into actionable and effective ML solutions.
- Conduct extensive data analysis, meticulous feature engineering, and rigorous model experimentation to continuously improve model performance, accuracy, and efficiency across various metrics.
- Proactively monitor the performance and health of deployed models in real-time, identify potential issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement necessary adjustments and optimizations to maintain high reliability and performance standards.
- Stay at the forefront of the latest advancements in machine learning research, algorithms, and technologies, evaluating and integrating new tools and techniques to continuously enhance Swiggy’s ML capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of progressive professional experience in Machine Learning Engineering, with a strong portfolio showcasing a proven track record of successfully deploying production-ready ML models.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python programming and its comprehensive ecosystem for machine learning, including widely used libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, and FastAPI/Flask for API development.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks, specifically PyTorch, for building, training, and optimizing complex neural networks and other advanced ML architectures.
- Strong theoretical understanding and practical experience with MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, CI/CD for ML, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes) for managing the entire ML lifecycle effectively.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience in deploying, managing, and scaling ML workloads and services within a cloud environment.
